Socrates Meets Jesus - the play

Last night, my parish hosted the play Socrates Meets Jesus, presented by Theater of the Word. The Archdiocese of St. Louis has reason to boast, because this theater group is based here.

The play/book was written by Peter Kreeft, and it is quite intriguing.
The premise is this:

What would happen if Socrates came back to life and stepped onto the campus of one of our colleges? What would happen if he encountered a theology class in which every "truth" was considered equally valid - even when they contradicted one another - and there were no absolutes? How would this philosophical genius respond to Truth? And how would his classmates and professor respond to reason and wisdom?

While the entire troupe did an excellent job last night, Kevin O'Brien (Socrates) gets high marks for his adaptation of Socrates. The young man (sorry, don't know his name) who played the skeptic/slacker nailed his character. He was completely believable. I think I met that "student" in a few of my classes - back in graduate school.

This theater group will be featured on EWTN on Wednesdays at 1:00 P.M. Eastern/Pacific time.

Catch it if you can!
