Obedient St. Pio of Pietrelcina, you have loved the sick more than yourself, because you were able to see Jesus in them. You have performed many miracles by healing patients in the name of Jesus and thereby giving them peace of mind. We beg you to pray for us, so that sick patients, through the intercession of Mary, can be healed and their bodies restored so that they may benefit from the Holy Spirit and, therefore, thank and praise God forever.

Prudent St. Pio of Pietrelcina, you have had a great devotion for the Souls in Purgatory for whom you have offered yourself as a victim to remit their punishments. Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, together with Our Lord Jesus Christ, you were able to withstand the temptations of the Devil. You suffered the beatings and the oppression of Satan, the Enemy, who wanted to have you abandon your journey of holiness. We beg you to pray for us so that, with your help and the help of all of the Heavenly Kingdom, we will be able to find the strength to set sin aside and to persevere in our faith until the day of our death.

Novena to St. Pio of Pietrelcina - Day Two

Tomorrow, we begin . . .

Tomorrow is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. We will begin our Novena to St. Pio of Pietrelcina tomorrow, ending these nine days of prayers on his feast day.

I encourage you to consider the life of this saint and ask yourself, this saint, and Our Father one question: what petition should I bring with me to this Novena?

According to Catholic.org, "on September 20, 1918, Padre Pio was kneeling in front of a large crucifix when he received the visible marks of the crucifixion, making him the first stigmatized priest in the history of Church."

It is right and good to begin this Novena on the feast day that lifts high the Cross of Christ. Perhaps you are carrying a cross of your own and Our Lord is asking you to offer it up during these nine days.
