Divine Paradox

I found the quote by St. Augustine (from Sermon 191) in a book I'm reading on the Rosary. The book is okay, but the quote was outstanding.

It's worth memorizing - if I weren't already overloaded by committing new Catholic prayers to memory. I guess repeating it here is the next best thing to memorizing it.

Man's maker was made man--that he who guides the Milky Way might take milk at his mother's breast, that the Bread might hunger, the Fountain thirst, the Light sleep, the Way be tired on its journey; that Truth might be accused by false witness, the Teacher be beaten with whips, the Foundation be suspended on wood; that Strength might grow weak, that the Healer might be wounded, that Life might die.
